No.. no.. no.. NO! It is not what you think it is. It has got nothing to do with the victim of a gruesome and much-publicized murder. It is much more related to Nissan Silvia S13 which my hubby Fotografia De Lyzard and I bought some time in July, 2011. I’d like to share with you the story behind the deal. So, here it goes..
Hubby was so excited when he saw the car advertised in the largest local online marketplace in Malaysia, he then arranged one fateful afternoon to meet up with the owner. We arrived in Puchong on time but then we received an sms from the owner saying that he will be a little bit late because he need to perform Asar prayer at the nearby mosque before meeting us. We waited at a nearby Petronas petrol station until we saw this bog-standard Nissan Silvia S13 in black paint minutes later. We were very excited to see the black car and when the owner got out from the car with his kopiah, I smiled. I knew right away that this is the car that hubby and I were looking for all these while. The then owner bought the car when he was studying in Japan back then but he wanted to sell it since he needed to buy a family car. Well, I can say that the car is well maintained as the owner drove the car only to go to the mosque to perform prayers. Just imagine on how ‘pious’ this car is as it is mostly driven to the mosque 5 times a day. Yes, only to the mosque! How awesome is that? It reminds me of my dad who drove our previous Nissan Silvia S14 (hubby’s previous car) to the mosque back in 2009.
Okay, enough crapping about the previous owner. Here are some pictures of the Black Dahlia, taken by Fotografia De Lyzard.
The key that opens a new dimension of adventure in my life
Stock 1993 Silvia Q Specs running SR20DE engine with auto transmission
Triple projector headlights with stock and faded Silvia grill
Late model Oval ‘S’ shaped bonnet key cover and rusted Silvia emblem
The S13 Silvia was the first S-series car to use the J’s, Q’s, and K’s (references to the face cards of English playing cards) – wikipedia
I believe this is how Japan’s road tax look alike those days
The interior – everything looks good eventhough the car is already 18 years old. I guess age is just a number aight?
Clocked 214k km – not bad for an 18 year old car aye?
Powered by SR20DE with AT gearbox – stock engine running for 18 years and counting
Racing sparco mags that came with the car – not a fan of it!
Silvia with stock Nissan mudflaps? Are you kidding me?
The view from the back – nothing much to show.. YET!
Since Black Dahlia is a gift from hubby to me, I would like to spend more time cruising with it and at the same time learn how to handle a rear-wheel driven car. I’ve given dear hubby a scare or two already in the car during our journeys uphill/downhill, giving it some mild drifts unintentionally (or is it intentionally?). ![]()
Currently the car is in the transformation phase, putting on new paint and slammed with new wheels.
I will keep Awesome Powered readers posted about the Black Dahlia from time to time. Check on this site often if you want to know my future plans for Black Dahlia. Stay tuned awesome people!
